WOW!! That best describes my thoughts and feelings when I read this story and watched the video. The title “Family calls Landlord ‘Murderer’ in Court” sends a chill down my spine, and it should send one down yours too!
We, as landlords, have an obligation to our tenants. That obligation is to provide them with a clean, safe house to reside in. If we can’t provide that, due to financial strain or lack of caring, then do me a favor and sell the house. If this is the case, then you do not deserve to have the title ‘landlord’.
Crossing our t’s and dotting our i’s is the most important thing we can do. It is for our benefit as a landlord and also for the benefit of our tenants. In my eBook, I explain these points over and over again. From having the proper paperwork and disclosures filled out to doing quarterly inspections, you MUST be on top of your real estate empire at all times. These are REAL people with REAL lives.. While I do agree that some tenants take a nice place and decide to tear it up and live like social deviants. The majority of tenants are not like that and everyone that is paying you their hard earned money deserves to live in a home that is safe.

Let’s band together and make sure we separate ourselves from these slumlords and not allow the name Landlord to mean greedy and uncaring.
